To my beloved Wife and cherished Son,

In the quiet hours of the morning, before the day’s noise resumes its assault, I key these thoughts—not to scrawl complaint, but to proclaim a solemn warning born of love, observation, and duty.

We find ourselves no longer merely citizens of a republic, but unwitting subjects of a strange and spectral empire—one not governed by crown nor constitution, but by code and circuitry. This dominion of digits, cloaked in novelty and convenience, does not arrive with swords drawn, but with screens aglow and voices disembodied through silicon lips. It demands no allegiance, yet commands our every glance, gesture, and thought.

Once, a man’s home was his castle. Now, it is but a node in a network. Our every word is siphoned by unseen listeners, our choices molded by algorithms, and our worth quantified by metrics that know neither virtue nor soul. We are told this is “progress.” I call it something nearer to possession.

Of Screens and Shackles

My son, I watch with pain as even your bright eyes are drawn into the abyssal glow of the screen—a siren’s call more potent than any opiate. What was once a tool has become a tether. Childhood, that precious fleeting moment where the imagination must reign free, is now corralled by synthetic pleasures and pixelated fancies. A boy who should be building forts and scaling trees is now scaled himself—measured by “engagement” and “likes,” his curiosity hijacked by the profit motive of technocratic merchants.

Of Surveillance and Subjugation

My dear wife, you and I were born into a world where privacy was a birthright, not a relic. Yet now, each word we speak, each step we take, is marked, mapped, and monetized. Our devices, which promised connection, have become confessors of our habits, our fears, and soon, perhaps, our sins.

Let no man deceive you—this is not “protection” but preemption; not security, but subjugation.

Of Coin and Chains

And now we are told a “digital dollar” shall complete this transformation. A currency not minted by the toil of free men, but conjured by the will of central authorities—programmable, perishable, and purposed for control. What the ancient tyrants could not extract by sword, the modern engineer may soon deduct at whim. He who controls the coin, controls the citizen.

Do not be lulled by the siren song of “stability” or “efficiency.” These are but fig leaves draped upon the tree of knowledge that bears bitter fruit. The Central Bank Digital Currency, or its private-sector cousin the stable coin, is the final lock upon the cage—the mechanism by which dissent may be punished, purchases prohibited, and freedom priced out of reach.

Our Stand as a Family

We must teach our son that liberty is not sustained by comfort, but by vigilance. That to be human is to err, to wonder, to dissent—and that no machine, however clever, may rightly dictate the course of a man’s conscience. Let us guard our time, our privacy, our choices as sacred treasures. Let us prefer the struggle of the free to the ease of the enslaved.

Let the glow of fireflies stir his wonder, not the blue light of an endless feed. Let our wealth be stored in the character we shape, not the credits another may seize. Let our conversations be whispered under starlight, not dictated by prompts.

My love, my son: I write not with despair, but with purpose. For history teaches that even in the darkest hour, men of character may yet rekindle the flame of liberty. Let us be such a family. Let us walk this path—though harder—with heads held high and hearts unshackled.

With steadfast love and undying resolve,
ABR
